First worn: Fanime Con 2002
I love Threads of Fate, it has that cute old-school Square humor and charm. Mint is a spunky princess with an odd fear of pumpkins who is seeking world domination (but yes, she’s the hero… well one of two). The costume was never 100% complete so I only wore it once, and only have one solo photo of it. My wig was also a super bright orange — again, limited availablility of wigs back then. I’d like to remake this and do it justice but it’s low on my priority list. The game is pretty obscure. A friend wrote a really cute skit for masquerade about how no one knows this game because “All they care about is Final Fantasy!” I wanted to make a giant pumpkin for the skit, but we ended up using a small plush one. The more I think about it, the more I’m glad I never got around to making that pumpkin, because I have no idea where I’d put it afterwards.
