First worn: Anime Expo 1999
This happened because I found a cheap blue Adidas bodysuit with yellow stripes down the side at a discount store.Β Never mind that it had one too many stripes, it was too good to pass up.Β It’s actually red at the top, but that’s covered by the vest.Β It had a thick layer of dust on it, so who knows how long it had been there at the store.Β I was glad to have a third costume to wear at my first convention, so I’d have one for each day.Β I wore it on the first day of Anime Expo 1999!
I’m actually not even a fan of this design, and I prefer Cammy over Chun-Li, but Chun-Li is an iconic strong female character that meant a lot to girl gamers at the time, so I was happy to cosplay her.Β I was active in Taekwon-Do at the time, so I could do martial arts poses.Β Also, people told me that I had the legs for Chun-Li…. I’m still not sure if that’s a compliment. π
