My Diablo III Wizard

Some of my friends may be surprised to learn that I had never played a Diablo game… until just recently.Β  This past Thanksgiving, I took advantage of a Black Friday sale and purchased Diablo III plus the expansion.Β  I will be perfectly honest – Li-Ming is what inspired me to try this game.Β  I play a lot of Heroes of the Storm, and when Li-Ming was introduced, she was an instant favorite and actually became one of my mains, DESPITE THE FACT SHE WEARS PURPLE (hey, this is a big deal for me)!Β  When it comes to RPGs, wizard is typically my class of choice.Β  I am 200% a glass cannon mage brat, which is exactly what Li-Ming is, complete with spunky, no-nonsense attitude.

I worked hard to earn Li-Ming’s Master skins in HotS, because one of them was pink.Β  However, I didn’t like the design of the Master armor as much as the regular, so I just HAD to know…. how customizable are Diablo III characters? And…. would it be ok to cosplay her regular outfit, but in PINK?? (You see where this is going now…..)Β  So, in the name of research, I decided to play Diablo III. πŸ˜‰Β  Well, that wasn’t the only reason.Β  I liked a number of the Diablo III characters added to HotS and became curious about the story as well (good job, HotS, for getting me to play Diablo).

I was delighted to find that armor in Diablo III is actually very customizable, as you can change the style and color of the individual pieces!Β  Not only that, but because I owned all three StarCraft II Collector’s Editions, I had StarCraft themed goodies waiting for me, including a Probe pet, a Battlecruiser pet, the Queen of Blade’s wings, and Artanis’s head and shoulder gear!Β  The image above shows my character after I finished the game.Β  Of course, I dyed everything pink.Β  The funniest thing though is that you can also change the appearance of the weapon.Β  My character is actually equipped with an axe… but this staff looks a lot cooler, right??

As for the game itself, I enjoyed it, although it was way too easy, even on “Hard”.Β  I don’t know if part of that is just the wizard class being overpowered, but I breezed through the game.Β  Ages ago I had played a similar style game called Neverwinter Nights, and it was actually difficult to solo play as a mage (because they are fragile), so I was excited for a challenge.Β  However, in Diablo III, few things could hurt me, and if they did, all I had to do was take a few steps to regenerate my HP.Β  It was kind of ridiculous.Β  By the time I got the Disintegrate skill, all I had to do was press the right mouse button and spin around a few times, and everything would die.Β  Then I would move to the next section and repeat.Β  I could sit back and play the game with one hand while sipping a drink with the other.Β  At least it was relaxing?
