First Worn: Anime Expo 2000
My friends and I did a large X cosplay group after the movie showed in the US in 2000.Β I loved the manga, and I’m really disappointed it was never finished.Β I sadly haven’t gotten around to watching the anime TV series either.Β X/1999 was fairly popular back in 2000 when I first wore this costume, but when I brought it back out in 2010, no one recognized it.
My friend Ohmi helped me make the sword out of wood, foam board, illustration board, and paper clay.Β The mostly-paper sword is very light but actually pretty sturdy.Β Also, I love that Arashi is left-handed like me.
