Wintertime Trip to Golden Gate Park (2012)

Back when we were dating, my husband came to visit me in the San Francisco Bay Area in December 2012.Β  Even though it was wintertime, we decided to go wander around Golden Gate Park for a day.Β  We mostly stayed outside, but we did go inside the Conservatory of Flowers.Β  It was nice and warm in there, so I took my coat off.Β  This was my cozy outfit of the day, since it does actually get a little cold in San Francisco: a long sweater layered over a gold turtleneck, jeans, fuzzy boots, and a cute bow necklace. This sweater is funny because it has a big chunky cowl neck but short puffed sleeves.Β  I’m pretty sure I got it quite a bit after the time wearing short sleeves over long sleeves was cool (hello 90’s!).Β  Not that being out of style has ever stopped me.

Who is this young guy?? πŸ˜‰Β  Wearing the scarf I made for him. β™₯

Outside, I was bundled up in this long puffer jacket, but I made sure my cute little bow necklace was still peeking out.Β  The bag I was carrying was the large Hello Kitty Loungefly bag.Β  I have the matching wallet, too, and still use it to this day.Β  I was really excited about the bag when I got it, but it turned out not to be as practical as I had hoped.Β  When it’s full, it’s a bit too heavy to carry on the elbow (cuts off circulation), but the straps are not quite long enough to fit comfortably over the shoulder, and doesn’t fit at all with a jacket.Β  The smaller Loungefly bags with shoulder straps are much more practical, in my opinion.Β  I ended up not using this larger bag much and sold it at a yard sale.

We also went inside the Japanese Tea Garden.Β  It’s not as exciting during December as when the flowers are in bloom, but it’s still nice, and at least it wasn’t crowded.Β  I think we had some tea and mochi while we were there.
