My favorite music group U-KISS recently released a new album in Japan called LINK! Here is their latest music video:
U-KISS – No Regret (Short Ver)
Ok, I have to say, when I first saw promotional images for the new album popping up on Instagram, I FREAKED OUT when I saw Soohyun wasn’t in them. I was honestly so worried about how U-KISS would fare without Kevin, and I was afraid Soohyun had left too. Then I found out he’s doing his military service (mandatory for Korean males before age 35). Oh yeah, that’s right. Everyone’s getting older, huh? But I’m really glad to see U-KISS is hanging in there and continuing to make music, because I really love their sound.
I love the instrumentals in this song. I was wondering how the lyric balance would turn out with two singers and two rappers, but I think they did a good job with it. I was also surprised to see Kiseop center, with the first line! He has really improved in singing since the days when he first joined and would get only one or two short lines in a song. He’s really stepped it up, especially since Kevin left. Also… I just read that he composed this song?? Wow, I’m impressed! He’s my favorite member, so I’m happy to see him grow so much as a musician.
The new album LINK also includes the song FLY, which is also written by Kiseop.
U-KISS – FLY
I don’t like the song as much as No Regret, but I AM loving the visuals in both videos, with the use of the colored lights. You know I love color. I also love the positive theme in both songs of pushing forward despite the struggles you face. Even though I miss Kevin, I think U-KISS is doing ok without him. I hope they continue to release great music, and hopefully someday we’ll see a Korean comeback as well.
