Honolulu City Lights (Christmas 2017)

During my first trip to Hawaii, I passed by the Honolulu City Hall many times and saw the Honolulu City Lights Christmas displays, but I never got a chance to stop and visit.  When I returned to Honolulu during the 2017 Christmas season, I made sure not to miss it!

“Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day~” ♪♫

Closeups of Hawaiian Mr. and Mrs. Claus, AKA Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele, with their animal buddies and Hawaiian snacks!  I love Tutu Mele’s muumuu and hibiscus.

A Hawaiian snowman family.  The little one is ready to surf!

Pretty lights right outside the City Hall building.  I love the mix of lights hanging from the trees.

Proof I was there…. haha. 🙂

Inside there were a lot of Christmas trees with different themes, made by various companies and organizations.

The giant Christmas tree outside and all the building lights changed colors!

Although not super big (it’s Hawaii), Honolulu City Lights was a nice, colorful Christmas display.  I loved seeing the Hawaiian spin on Christmas… and of course, it was nice to be able to enjoy the lights on a warm Hawaiian winter night.

Bonus random picture… we drove by this building many times, and of course the rainbows caught my eye.  Apparently it’s the Honolulu Board of Water Supply building.  The fountain in the front has rainbow color-changing lights too!
