Wet N Wild Little Twins Stars Makeup Collection

Wet N Wild Little Twin Stars Makeup Collection

As soon as I saw this makeup collection back in November, I sent a link to my twin sister, who was so excited about it that she bought it immediately.  We love Little Twin Stars, for obvious reasons.  My sister even calls me Kiki sometimes, and her name is Lily, so instead of Kiki and Lala, we are Kiki and Lili.  Me being the blue boy and her being the pink girl is kinda backwards, though.  Anyway, we both love the overall Little Twin Stars aesthetic.

So my sister bought this collection without bothering to read the ingredients, which is silly because she’s allergic to so many things.  She really just wanted the box (I can’t blame her, it’s very cute), and knew she could dump any unwanted makeup on me.  Hah.  So it turns out she’s allergic to all the makeup, and only kept the non-makeup items (brushes, sponges, pouch, and holders).  There were still a few items I could not even use.  I am not allergic to as many things as she is, but I was shocked to find that a few of the items in this collection contained nut ingredients, which I am deathly allergic to.  It’s really surprising to me that Wet N Wild, a cheap drugstore brand with mass market appeal, would use such ingredients.  At least I know now to stay away from them.

So what did I get out of this?  The lip glosses and mousses, the eyeliners, the face mist, and the large eye and face palette.  By the way, everything smells like candy, and that is probably the best thing about this collection aside from the cute packaging.

I will never turn down a sparkly lip gloss, especially one that smells good.  These are a little iridescent, definitely something I can put to good use.  I was afraid the lip mousses, especially the darker one, might not be flattering on me, but they’re actually fine.  I don’t usually wear liquid lip color, but that’s mostly because I haven’t tried very many.  Seems like something I could get into.

I’m not sure how they intended these light colored eyeliners to be used, but I suppose they would be good for highlighting the lower lash line and inner eye.  I already own just about every color of eyeliner there is, though, so I don’t know how much use these will get.

I’ll be honest here, I don’t really know what face mist is good for.  I can’t say I’ve ever noticed it doing anything to my face.  The disclaimer here is that I have oily skin.  In all likelihood, this will sit on my vanity looking cute, and maybe occasionally get sprayed for the candy smell.

I love palettes, but I’ve had to stop myself from buying them because I just don’t use them.  I already have singles of every color I could ever want, so there’s no reason to buy them again just because they’re arranged in a nice package.  Then they press cute little designs into the makeup so I’m afraid to even touch them and mess them up!  I admit they are super tempting, though.  This is a nice palette, and seeing it on my shelf makes me happy, but I’m going to have a hard time convincing myself to actually use it.  By the way, the top middle three colors and the one on the end of the second row are “face” colors and not to be used in the eye area.  That’s fine for the pinks, but I’m not sure what the dark purple is good for in that case.  Otherwise, these are colors I would actually use.  I especially love the glittery ones!  I’ll have to try doing a Twin Stars look with this palette sometime!
