I’ve made it to the third trimester! I wanted to dress up a little, so I pulled out one of my Hawaiian dresses. I’m still staying at home and taking it easy. I literally only go out for medical appointments. I thought about the possibility that I may have to experience this entire pregnancy in isolation, and it made me a little sad, but at least my health is good. I am not complaining.
Oh, I would like to complain about trends in baby prints, though. Yes. I have been working on my registry, and I have to ask… what’s with all the gray? And prints that look like they were DRAWN by a toddler? Anything “cute” is packaged with something else that’s pink, and “boy” stuff is so drab and dark. I happen to really like baby blue, but where are my blue skies with rainbows?? Not in style right now? Also, I have seen blue things “for girls,” but nothing pink for boys, of course. The extreme gendering of baby stuff is pretty ridiculous, because it all fits the same anyway. If gray is their answer to making things “gender-neutral”, it still kind of misses the point by just avoiding the issue entirely. It’s especially mind-boggling when you consider that most of these things are really for the parents. Babies don’t care what colors and prints their clothes, sheets, and changing mats are! So yes, even though I am having a boy, I totally added “girl things” to my registry. For me.
By the way, my hair has faded to a light peachy pink blend. I’m taking a very low maintenance approach to my hair right now. From the front the ends mostly just look peach, but the back has a nice ombre effect.
