Since my hair is really long again, I wanted to try putting it into Sailor Moon’s hairstyle! I used to wear my hair like this occasionally when I was in junior high and high school (without the curls though, I wasn’t that fancy). My hair is very fine, so I found that tying my pigtails in knots was the easiest way to achieve this hairstyle. Even so, my buns are pretty small. This hair made me feel so cute! I especially enjoyed it with the pink tips. Sorry, not sorry, I took a million selfies!
The t-shirt is an old design from TeeTurtle. Sailor Moon kitties! Mars is my favorite thing about this shirt.
I got these earrings from Hot Topic. They are actually a mismatched pair, which I think is silly. I was never a fan of mismatched earrings. If you like this trend, you can do it yourself with any earrings, so there’s no reason to sell them like this. Anyway, I really liked the longer earring, so I just bought two pairs. I also bought a pair of Sailor Moon heart earrings which are luckily a normal matching pair.
I have seen some girls who recreated Sailor Moon’s hairstyle by taking part of each pigtail and wrapping them around the base to make buns. The advantage, of course, is that you don’t lose any length. I don’t like doing it this way, though, because it requires bobby pins, which never feel secure in my fine hair. I also feel it’s harder to get a nice round shape with the buns. I decided to give it a try, though. I probably could have taken a little more hair out for the buns, but in order to get any real volume, I’d have to tease my hair, which I also don’t like doing. Actually, I probably should have made some loops at the top to wrap the buns around. I’ll have to try it again sometime!
