Happy New Year! This photo was taken 10 years ago, on New Year’s Day, when we were in Hawaii. Come to think of it, the only times I’ve ever gone out and celebrated New Year’s was when I visited Hawaii.
For New Year’s 2012 we went to a Japanese Shinto shrine at midnight, and then the next day we had lunch with family at a Japanese buffet, where the first photo was taken. For 2018, my husband and I were staying in Waikiki, so we walked down to the beach to watch the fireworks show. Usually, though, I spend New Year’s quietly at home, either gaming or sleeping. This year, I went to bed a little before midnight. With a small child, I’ll take all the sleep I can get!
