Cute Kitty and Rainbow Night Lights

When I was preparing for the new baby, I knew I would need more night lights for all those nighttime feedings.  I already had a simple kitty night light [affiliate link](the one on the right above), which I kept on my nightstand.  With one tap, it turns on to warm white.  A second tap will make it cycle through rainbow colors, and a third tap will turn it off.  I found it very convenient if I had to get up in the middle of the night for whatever reason, since it’s easy to turn on and off even if you can’t see very well.

When I found this more sophisticated LumiPets version [affiliate link] of the kitty night light, I knew I had to get it.  This one has a remote and can do a variety of single colors plus two color-changing modes (fading and flashing).  There are also dimming settings and some simple timers to turn the light off after a certain amount of time.  Another great improvement is that the USB charging port is on the back rather than the bottom, so you can use the light while plugged in.  There are three drawbacks to this model, however.  The first is that the tap sensor is very hard to trigger (I could never get it to work, but my husband did).  The second is that you can’t turn the light ON from the remote (which I find thoroughly baffling).  The third is that it doesn’t remember settings, and turns on to full cool white every time.  These three things mean it’s not so good for turning on in the middle of the night, which is how I had originally intended to use it.  Instead, I just leave it on all night, and I have to manually set the color and dimness every night.  It’s still a good night light, though.  My son really loves to play with both kitty night lights.  There are a lot of other cute animals too, including a bunny, puppy, penguin, and unicorn.

I also got a few of these rainbow wall plug night lights [affiliate link].  For whatever reason, the colors are set up “blind box” style, with four different color patterns, and you don’t get to choose.  Since I could use these lights in multiple places in my house, I got a few, hoping at least one of them would be pink on the outside.  It turned out they were all the same, and happened to be the color I wanted!  So that was lucky, but not quite what I had in mind.  Anyway, I put one in the master bathroom (which also gives a little light to the bedroom), one in the kitchen, and one in my son’s future bedroom.  Now there are plenty of (colorful) lights all throughout the house!
