Azaleas are some of my favorite flowers, second only to roses (but maybe tied with cherry blossoms). There are azaleas planted all along one side of my house, where unfortunately we almost never see them. I can see them from my sewing room window, but these days I’m rarely in there, although I know that will change as my son gets older.
We mostly have these bright fuchsia azaleas, which aren’t my favorite, but they’re certainly an eye-catching surprise on the rare occasion I do go on that side of the house and find them in bloom. They’re quite a lively color.
During a trip to the nursery I found this lovely ruffled peach-pink azalea called California Peach, and I could not resist! It is currently in a pot right outside my sewing room window.
This is one my mom brought me. She has a bunch of azaleas herself, and she remembered that I particularly liked the pink-edged and speckled ones. This is also in a pot outside my sewing room window, but perhaps I’ll move it to the front yard. There is a section by my front porch that would be good for azaleas, and then I would be able to see them and appreciate them better! I’m hoping to add even more azaleas once I am actually able to find some time for gardening again.
