First worn: Anime Expo 2006
I found MY ANIME GIRL. I loved her so much I had to cosplay her right away… and fortunately the costume was easy to throw together. All I had to make was the turtleneck and some hair bows (I borrowed a skirt, and later my mom made me one). I grabbed some loose gems and I was Rin! The outfit is so cute for how simple it is… and she has PERFECT HAIR! Rather… what I WISHED my hair looked like, and what it would look like if it had twice the volume. ;p The half twintail style is also my favorite hairstyle. When I was a teenager I identified with Asuka, but what I was really looking for was RIN. To me, she is the closest thing to a perfect anime character — powerful, smart, competent, ambitious, but secretly sweet on the inside. Oh. And zettai ryouiki.
Rin is now particularly special to me because it was because of this costume that I met my husband. A friend put together a Fate/stay night skit for Anime Expo 2010, and my husband was my Archer. I’m not even going to start about how much I love Archer.
It goes without saying that Unlimited Blade Works is my favorite arc of Fate/stay night.
