First worn: Sakura Con 2000
This is still one of my all-time favorite costumes. I love Kitty-N so much. Kitty Nakajima, the Cosplay Soldier, a pink and white dancing catgirl idol. Perfect, right? The first time I saw Bust A Move (it was the Japanese version), I saw Kitty-N vs. Kitty-N dancing to Aozora no Knife, and I was OBSESSED. I HAD to have the game. Kitty-N is actually the reason I started learning idol dances, too. Before I even tried learning J-pop routines, I practiced Kitty-N’s dance moves and even did two masquerade skits (at Sakura Con 2000 and Anime Expo 2000). Sadly, although I had several friends who also cosplayed from Bust A Groove, I was never able to coordinate a group gathering. I don’t have many good photos of this costume, either.
The hair was actually a fun project. My friend Ohmi showed me how to carve and finish potting foam! It’s lightweight and looks cool, but I couldn’t move my head much.
