First worn: San Diego Comic-Con 2005
When I was young, The Chronicles of Prydain were some of my absolute favorite books. I loved the spunky princess Eilonwy even then. I didn’t see the Disney movie until much later, and I can see why it didn’t do well. It was dark for a Disney film, and not a complete story because it covered only the second book of five. The Prydain series is kind of like a kid’s version of Lord of the Rings.
When I joined the Disney Princess group for SDCC ’05, most of the princesses were already taken… which was fine with me, because it gave me an excuse to cosplay one of my favorite obscure princesses! We used this in our skit too, the Disney princess that nobody knows… and it worked, because people kept asking, “Who’s the girl in the pink??” Hah.
